Joey Jett offers MORE than skateboard lessons to youth (ages 6-12). He offers an innovative program to foster creativity. Joey has always loved art. He skated with the Dew Tour at 7 and went Pro in Baltimore at 18 while filming & editing "The Dream" with over 800,000 views. Next he created Jett Brand clothing at 20 with shows at the Smithsonian Institute at 22. Recently named a GameChanger for Maryland, his greatest passion has been teaching and helping kids find their true creative spirit - first with Breakfast & Boards since 2020 (named Best Kid Class 2023) and now with Create & Sk8!

These youth classes in Skating, Videography, Photography, Editing and Fashion Design are designed to foster creativity, independence and confidence in young minds. A truly unique and engaging learning experience in a creative safe space / blending the world of art and skateboarding with fun! Try a single class or a package of five lessons.

There are a variety of classes offered on SUNDAYS in 2025 with classes starting on January 12th - Kids can either attend a CREATE & SK8 class from

Noon - 1pm or from 3 - 4pm. They could also take a "Beginner Only" class from 1 -2 pm. Contact directly for private skate lessons. Info@createandsk8.com

Camps are also offered in the summer. The camp is maxed out at 8 students with skating and creating. Each student makes a custom shirt and snacks are provided in this fun camp from 9am - noon.

Creative Skills

SKATEBOARDING

With a custom halfpipe perfectly designed for kids to learn the basics of skating. They have the option to learn at their own pace or pick a different skill. The kids develop a creative eye and learn important life lesson that will build confidence. The experience will expand learning opportunities in help them continue to progress as a creative.

PHOTOGRAPHY/EDITING

Using many different types of cameras including some of the best around & best editing software, the kids will learn how to understand cameras techniques and the fundamentals of lighting & texture. With our custom backdrops and action photography, the kids see the world from a different eye and learn to take and edit great photos.

VIDEOGRAPHY/EDITING

The kids will learn and understand the basics of using video cameras. Gathering knowledge of motion & lighting in the studio. The lessons will open their perspective to seeing the world from a different eye, all while taking great videos and editing cool clips.

FASHION DESIGN / SCREEN PRINTING + GRAPHIC DESIGN

Learning with top of the line screen printing equipment, the kids will learn how to make custom clothing with graphics. Creating unique color combinations to allow them to express their individuality and personality in a unique way. At the end of the session, each student will take home their custom designed shirts.
